MY DISK OF ZE WEEK! : GOD LIVES UNDERWATER (2)
From the moment I heard the first heavy guitar
loops emerging from Drag Me Down (which
reminded me of a KMFDM song) back in 1995, I became a huge fan of God Lives
Underwater. Industrial music always peaked my interest and these guys had a
different approach in creating a unique sound, which is mixing hard rock
melodies with electronic ambiances (electronica, techno). They did it like no
one else! This GLU EP is a rare blend of Alice In Chains and Stabbing Westward.
The song Drag Me Down was
featured in the movie The Doom Generation,
while No More Love was featured in the movie Johnny Mnemonic.
Since the launching of that album, GLU has split and the lead singer, David Reilly, has passed
away. Still today, they remain a great treasure in my iTunes library.
Other GLU albums include: Empty, Life in the So-Called Space Age and Up Off The Floor.
